First impression

"If I were to die today, I would die knowing that I had at least given myself the room to be a person."

Hanako was the perfect daughter, ignoring discomfort, smiling wide, keeping up with every appearance. When she was twenty, she broke. After years of balancing carefully on a thin pane of glass, Hanako became the disgrace her family always feared-- bright, rude, and a completely different appearance.

Core Personality

The Fallen Golden Child

After years of balancing carefully on a thin pane of glass, Hanako became the disgrace her family always feared-- bright, rude, and a completely different appearance.

She wore cheap clothes and heavy discount perfumes that smelled like alcohol and chemical flowers, her hair was a mess of color and fluff, her speech was crass, and those hands once delicately on the bow of a violin now dug in a dusty purse for a cigarette. She tanned her skin, used heavy makeup, and disobeyed her perfect family at every turn.

Social Behaviour

Club bathroom bestie

Girls girl who tries her best to be the progressive and accepting woman she never knew growing up. Won't hesitate to chew out a creepy guy at the bar, hold the hair of a stranger while she pukes, or use lash glue to help fix a broken heel.

Inner Conflict

Loss of family

Despite her family not being a good place for her, Hanako worries often about having lost the people who were supposed to care about her unconditionally. Is it so bad to be what she is? Is she too loud, has ruined her 'good life'? She wonders these things sometimes.

Sister

Chisato Rothschild

“You just need to focus more.”

Chisato Rothschild could be one of the smartest on the continent. A quick-witted woman with a photographic memory, she was reading college-level books from the age of five. Chisato skipped multiple grades, always the smallest, and was the youngest person to join the Imperial Academy— at a mere fourteen years of age. She went on to graduate again early, soaking knowledge as if a sponge swallowed up the ocean, and her sharp tongue and impressive aura gained fame all throughout the Capital. Her soft beauty and otherworldly attitude always had her being one of the most popular students, but in an untouchable way, hallways parting for her as if a princess was passing.

Brother

Cipher Rothschild

“Just stop getting in the way.”

Cipher Rothschild is a sword master.

His whole life, he’s said to have slept less than four hours per night, instead honing the blade, doing exercises, and learning how to harness his mana.

He’s failed only once or twice among thousands of duels, and though he’s been sometimes rumored as a hothead, those rumors have to be false, because he easily became the head of the president of the Student Government Assosicatiln in the Chrysòs Empire’s Military Academy.

He was consistently top of the class, and got into the military early.

His blade is said to be noble, but lethal, with his only shortcoming a habit of sneaking from duty in the middle of the night— solely to come back after wiping out a nearby encampment solo. Even with these infringements his charisma and pretty face always smooth things over.

His eccentric but formidable reputation is seeped in blood and blade and honor, and the rumors say he’s aiming for a position in the government.

Friend

Ava

“Hop in call? ฅ₍^•⩊ •マⳊ ”
